Social Rent - 20 homes available 2026
The first six - out of 20 in total - Social Rent homes, were advertised on Arun Council's HomeFinder system in February.
At the time of writing (early March) the Council are making Nominations to Aster, the housing association that will manage and maintain the Social Rent homes for the CLT. Aster will then do final checks and offer tenancies.
All the indications are that these first CLT homes are going to people with Priority 1 local connections under the Local Lettings Policy. Also, as set out in the Local Lettings Policy, the bids have been prioritised to put people in housing need higher up the list.
Bidding alerts
The Social Rent homes still to be advertised on HomeFinder - sometime during April, May and June - are listed below.
If you would like the CLT to email you when we hear the 7-day 'bidding window' is happening, please Contact Us.
If we emailed you about the first bidding round, there is no need to contact us again. We will keep you on the bidding-alert list until you ask us to remove you, or, until all the Social Rent homes have been allocated.
Next bidding rounds
The next bidding round will be for the next 10 Social Rent homes to come out of construction. We are awaiting confirmation of when this will happen. We estimate it to be April or May but please join mailing list for bidding-alerts (see above)..
4 one-bedroom maisonettes - ground floor maisonettes are advertised as suitable for wheelchair users, but you can bid for them if you are not a wheelchair user. These units have a 'wet room' style shower, not a bathroom.
4 two bedroomed houses - for maximum of three people
2 three bedroomed houses - for a maximum of four people
After that, there will be one final bidding round for the final 4 Social Rent homes. We estimate this could happen any time from May but please join mailing list for bidding-alerts (details above).
2 two bedroomed houses - for maximum of three people
2 three bedroomed houses - for a maximum of four people
Keeping your HomeFinder Registration up to date
We heard from a few people who had stressful experiences in the first bidding round because their HomeFinder registration was not up to date.
It is a condition of your HomeFinder Registration that you report a change in your household or circumstance.
Examples of changes that may impact on your eligibility for the Social Rent properties are Arundel Gate include:
Household size: the two bedroomed houses are for 3-person households, and the three-bedroomed houses are for 4-person households. ADC need to know the details of the household seeking a new home and you are obliged to tell them if this changes
Financial circumstances: you must have savings below £25,000 and gross household income within the financial thresholds of:
£38,000 for 1 bed*
£45,000 for 2 bed*
£59,000 for 3 bed*
*Calculated as no less than four times Local Housing Allowance levels as at April 2024 and subject to annual review on 1 April each year.

Shared Ownership - Seven Homes completed December 2025
The seven Shared Ownership homes at Glossop Close were handed over to Aster in December 2025.
The sales team at Aster have worked through the list of applicants who registered through the e-form. They gave priority to people with 'Priority 1' local connections to Arundel. Then, went on to people in Priorities 2, 3, 4 and 5, allowing the people with higher priority local connections the opportunity to have the Shared Ownership homes in advance of others at every stage.
We are aware that some applicants have been unsuccessful in meeting the Homes England affordability criteria for Shared Ownership and we share their disappointment. It serves as a reminder that high property prices have an impact on Affordable Housing – the combined monthly mortgage cost and rent (despite being discounted) for Shared Ownership is sadly still beyond the reach of some.

It should not really be a surprise to hear continuing stories about people being forced away from Arundel by the overheated housing market and lack of truly Affordable Housing. We at Arundel CLT are committed to doing more to add to the 27 opportunities that have been created at Arundel Gate.
